Happy Sunday, everyone! š¹.į Another week has flown byāI hope youāve managed to get some stitches in.
As for me, Iāve officially jumped onto the #NeonCraze. I canāt believe how much Iām loving these bright, happy colorsāthey truly lift the mood! Iām already tempted to crochet everything in neon now.
The Secret to the Perfect Neon Bobble
For this project, I used a clever little trick with Red Heart Super Saver Stripes in "Retro Stripe." Instead of letting the colors pool randomly, I used a specific technique to make the colors pop against the black background:
-
The "Snip & Stitch" Method: I timed the yarn so that one color stripe fits exactly one bobble. I then snipped the yarn and switched back to the black yarn for the base.
-
The Effect: This gives each bobble a solid, vibrant neon glow that looks incredibly clean and professional.
-
A New Perspective: This project has completely changed how I look at bright variegated yarnsāthe possibilities are endless!
Technical Pattern Notes & Modifications
Iāve included a sample crochet chart below to get you started. To make it work for this specific bag size, I modified the stitch count:
-
The Math: I used a multiple of 8 stitches for each pattern set.
-
The Repeat: The design is worked over a 4-row repeat.
-
Customization: Donāt be afraid to adjust your foundation chain to fit the dimensions you want!
Pattern Chart & Inspiration
