Hello everyone! How is March treating you? Here in Singapore, we’ve had quite a few rainy days lately. While it might be gloomy outside, it’s the perfect excuse for some quality "me-time" indoors with my hooks and needles.
The 10-Year Stash Discovery
I finally started a new project that feels like it was meant to be. I dug into my stash and found a batch of yarn I’ve had since 2016—I can't believe 10 years have zoomed by! This yarn is now discontinued, but it’s been waiting patiently for the "perfect" pattern.
This is exactly why we "yarn hoard," isn't it? We buy these beautiful skeins, sometimes without a plan, waiting for that "aha!" moment where the material and the pattern finally meet to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
The Art of Matching Materials
One of the most important skills in needlework is understanding how to match your materials to your project. For this specific piece, I’m loving how the motifs change colors at each round. It transforms a simple pattern into something complex and vibrant.
Even if you don't have a 10-year-old stash, you can achieve this look by choosing yarns with long color repeats or variegated shades that do the hard work for you.
